Overview:
With the continuous development of diode-pumped all-solid-state Laser technology, it has been widely used in industrial, defense research, biomedical engineering and other fields, and its output power and reliability requirements are also increasing. As a power component of diode-pumped all-solid-state lasers, reliability and stability are particularly important. Diode-pumped all-solid-state lasers have high power supply, high output current, low voltage, high working pulse frequency (up to 1 kHz), and high stability of output current and voltage. Tiny current disturbances will affect the quality of the laser's light output, and improper protection can cause huge losses. In response to these characteristics, we chose the powerful power management chip MAX1647 as the core part of the overall system control, and designed a high-power laser power supply that fully meets the requirements.

Introduction to the MAX1647 Power Management IC
The MAX1647 is a new power management IC from MAXIM. Its internal structure is shown in Figure 1. It consists of two adjustment loops, a voltage adjustment loop and a current adjustment loop, to achieve constant current and constant voltage functions and automatic conversion between each other; and uses the INTEL system management bus (SMBUS) interface, which has a 6-bit internal A 10-bit D/A converter is used for current and voltage presets respectively; in addition, the MAX1647 provides a current output of up to 4A.
